We are pleased to announce the China–Canada–Hungary Joint Workshop on Mathematics of Complexity in Public Health, which will be held from 13 to 17 May 2026 at Fudan University (Handan Campus), Shanghai, China. This is the inaugural workshop of the Canada–China–Hungary (C2H) Network of Mathematics for Innovation in Public Health, a collaborative network to foster collaboration across disciplines and nations to build a sustainable research and training network for the future of AI technologies, including mathematical modelling and analytics for public health.
This workshop aims to bring together researchers from China, Canada, and Hungary to exchange recent advances in the mathematics of complexity as applied to public health. Particular emphasis will be placed on mathematical problems motivated by real-world public health challenges, as well as on related theoretical, computational, and methodological developments. The scope of the meeting is intentionally broad, encouraging interaction across diverse areas of mathematical, statistical, and computational sciences, while fostering close collaboration with public health expertise.
The workshop will be a focused, in-person meeting with approximately 40–50 participants, including senior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. The scientific programme will consist of invited lectures, contributed presentations, and structured discussion sessions, allowing ample time for in-depth academic exchange, networking, and the development of new collaborative initiatives.
