Recently, Professor Lin Wei from Research Institute of Intelligent Complex Systems has been appointed as a member of the second editorial board of the prestigious international journal "Research" (serving from March 2021 to February 2024).


Since its establishment in 1880, Research has become one of the leading journals in collaboration with renowned publications such as "Science" and "Nature". Currently, Professor Lin primarily publishes groundbreaking original research findings across various disciplines including life science, new materials, new energy, artificial intelligence, micro and nano science, environmental science, mechanical science, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. The Chief Editor for China is Huang Wei who is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Chief Editor for international affairs is Cui Tianhong who holds the distinguished position of McCate Professor at the University of Minnesota. In recent years (2018-2020), Research has published over 300 high-level papers online and has been indexed by prominent databases such as CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences), CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), CSCD (Chinese Science Citation Database), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), EI Compendex (Engineering Index), ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index), INSPEC (Institution of Engineering and Technology's database), PMC (PubMed Central) and Scopus. According to the World Journal Impact Index released at the end of 2020, Research ranked 16th among comprehensive journals outperforming other reputable publications worldwide; it also secured an impressive fifth place among all Chinese journals.


China Association for Science and Technology approved the list of the second Editorial Board on March 31, 2021. On April 24, 2021, Huang Wei and Cui Tianhong chaired the Editorial Board work meeting in Beijing. During the meeting, new editorial board members were presented with certificates while experts deliberated on future development goals and specific measures for Research.
