In an impressive display of innovation and technical acumen, the team from Fudan University's Research Institute of Intelligent Complex Systems clinched the third prize at the prestigious "Zhengtai Cup" 7th China Graduate Smart City Technology and Creative Design Competition. Held from August 13 to August 14, 2022, both online and offline, this competition is a part of the esteemed "China Graduate Innovation Practice Series Competition."Co-sponsored by the China Association of Degree and Graduate Education, the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Zhongguancun Smart City Industrial Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, the competition aimed to ignite creativity and drive development in smart city technology. It featured 8 tracks and 32 challenging questions, drawing participation from over 260 graduate training units nationwide. The event saw more than 6,700 students, forming 2,034 teams, engage in a year-long intellectual battle, culminating in 131 finalists vying for the top honours from 1673 entries.
The award-winning project, "Urban Shared Bicycle Digital Twin System," was ingeniously developed by Lai Junjie, Qian Xuzhe, Peng Xiaxiao, and Dong Yuting under the guidance of instructors Sun Yi and Wu Zhenan.
This project tackled the complex issue of urban traffic management with a focus on optimizing shared bicycle services. The team's approach involved sophisticated data mining of historical records to uncover usage patterns, followed by the creation of dynamic optimization algorithms for efficient deployment of shared bicycles. Additionally, they innovatively applied floating pricing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and profitability, benefiting users, city authorities, and bike-sharing companies alike.
